Legal — re:anker

Last updated: August 2026

This page holds everything: how your information is handled, who I am and what I'm qualified to do, and the terms you're agreeing to if you buy the WhatsApp Companion.

• Part One — Privacy Policy (sections A1–A13): what happens to your information
• Part Two — Legal Notice (sections B1–B8): who operates this site, and what re:anker is and isn't
• Part Three — Terms & Conditions (sections C1–C13): the free app, and the paid WhatsApp Companion

If you are in crisis right now, please don't read on — call 999, or NHS 111, or Samaritans free on 116 123, any hour of the day or night.

Part One — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the re:anker app, visit reanker.app, email me, or work with me through the re:anker WhatsApp Companion.

I've written it in plain language because you should be able to understand it without a law degree. Where a legal term matters, it's in brackets.

A1. Who is responsible for your data

Stephanie Lal, trading as re:anker ("I", "me", "my").

Legal form: sole trader.

• Email: reanker.app@gmail.com
• Business address (for correspondence — not a public office): The Bristol Office, 2nd Floor, 5 High Street, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, BS9 3BY, England
• ICO registration reference: ZC232471 (Information Commissioner's Office, register of fee payers)

I am the "data controller" for the information described below. That means I decide why and how it is used, and I'm the person you hold responsible for it.

A2. The short version

• The free re:anker app collects nothing. No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your own device and never reaches me.
• The website uses my hosting provider's standard cookies and basic visitor statistics.
• If you email me or become a WhatsApp Companion client, I hold what you send me, for as long as I need it, and no longer.
• I never sell your data, never share it for advertising, and never use it to train AI systems.

A3. The free re:anker app

The app asks for your first name, an intensity rating before and after a session, and — optionally — a trigger and a short note. It keeps a private calendar of your sessions.

All of this is stored locally on your own device, in your browser's storage. It is not transmitted anywhere. I cannot see it, I do not receive a copy, and there is no server holding it.

What this means for you:

• I have no way to retrieve, correct or delete your app entries for you — you are in control of them.
• Clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching device or browser will delete them permanently. There is no backup.
• Because I never receive this information, I am not the controller of it, and the rights in Section A9 don't apply to it — nothing exists on my side to exercise them against.

The app plays audio (breathing guidance and a sound bath) in your browser. No recording of any kind is made, and the app does not access your microphone or camera.

The app is free and requires no account. It is not directed at children under 16.

A4. The website (reanker.app)

The website is built and hosted on Wix (Wix.com Ltd), which acts as my data processor.

When you visit, Wix's systems automatically collect standard technical information — your IP address, browser type and version, device type, pages viewed, time of visit, and referring page. This is used to keep the site running, keep it secure, and give me aggregate visitor statistics. I do not use it to identify individual visitors.

• Lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — operating and securing my website and understanding, at a general level, how it's used.
• Retention: as set by Wix's standard log retention; aggregate statistics are kept for up to 26 months.

Cookies

Wix sets a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function and stay secure (session, security and load-balancing cookies). These do not require consent.

Where the site offers you a cookie choice, any analytics or functional cookies are only set after you agree, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the banner or your browser settings. This site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Strictly necessary cookies being blocked may stop parts of the site working.

International transfers

Wix processes data outside the UK, including in the United States and Israel. These transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, together with Wix's supplementary safeguards. A copy of the relevant safeguards is available on request.

A5. If you email me

I hold your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.

• Lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — answering people who contact me — or, if your message is about buying a service, taking steps at your request before entering a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Processor: email is handled through Google (Gmail). Google processes data in the US under the UK Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Retention: enquiries that don't lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Correspondence with clients is kept as described in Section A6.

If your email contains information about your health or mental state, please see Section A6 — the same protections apply.

A6. The re:anker WhatsApp Companion (paid service)

This is the part of this policy that matters most, so it's the most detailed.

What I hold

• Your name and the mobile number you contact me from
• The content of our conversation — written messages, voice notes, and anything you share about what's going on for you
• Session-related notes I make in order to hold your story across weeks (Companion and Deep Companion tiers)
• Your billing record: the tier you're on, dates, and payment reference

Special category data

Because this service is about anxiety, overwhelm and nervous system regulation, our conversations will often contain information relating to your mental and physical health. That is special category data under Article 9 UK GDPR and gets a higher level of protection.

• Lawful basis for the service itself: performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
• Lawful basis for the health-related content: your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), which you give when you sign up and can withdraw at any time by telling me.

Withdrawing consent means I can no longer provide the service, because the service cannot work without it. Withdrawal does not affect anything lawfully done beforehand.

WhatsApp itself

Our conversations take place on WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta and is not controlled by me. WhatsApp message content is end-to-end encrypted, meaning Meta cannot read it. However, Meta does process metadata — that you and I are in contact, when, and how often — under its own privacy policy, as a separate controller.

I have no control over Meta's practices. If you'd rather not use WhatsApp for this reason, tell me and we can agree an alternative channel.

Who else sees it

Nobody. I deliver this service personally and do not use assistants, subcontractors, automated replies, chatbots or AI tools to read, draft or summarise our conversations.

I may share information only where:

• you ask me to;
• I am required to by law, or by a court or regulator;
• there is a serious risk to your life or to someone else's safety — see Section A7.

How long I keep it

• WhatsApp conversation history: deleted 3 months after our work together ends, or sooner if you ask.
• My own session notes: kept for 12 months after our work ends, then deleted.
• Billing and tax records: kept for 6 years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires it. This is a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) and I cannot delete these earlier, even if you ask.

Payments

Payment is by PayPal or bank transfer.

Where you pay by PayPal, PayPal acts as a separate controller for the payment itself under its own privacy policy. Your card or account details go to PayPal, never to me — I never see or store your card number.

Where you pay by bank transfer, I see the name on the account, the amount and the reference. I hold that only as part of the billing record described above.

A7. Safety, and the limits of confidentiality

The WhatsApp Companion is a confidential space for personal growth. It is not an emergency or crisis service.

If you tell me something that makes me believe there is a serious and immediate risk to your life, or a risk of serious harm to you or another person — including a child or vulnerable adult — I may need to pass information to emergency services or an appropriate safeguarding authority, and I may have to do that without your agreement.

This is rare, and wherever it is safe and possible I will tell you first and involve you in the decision. It is the only circumstance in which I would break confidentiality without your consent.

If you are in crisis right now: call 999, or NHS 111, or Samaritans free on 116 123, any time, day or night.

A8. What I never do

• I never sell, rent or trade your information.
• I never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• I never use your conversations, notes or app data to train AI or machine learning systems.
• I never use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.
• I never add you to a mailing list without your clear, separate opt-in — and every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe.

A9. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access — get a copy of what I hold about you
• Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected
• Erasure — have your data deleted, subject to the legal retention periods in Section A6
• Restriction — have me pause processing while a dispute is resolved
• Portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — at any time, where consent is the basis

To exercise any of these, email reanker.app@gmail.com. I'll respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

Please note the limits described in Section A3: app data never reaches me, so there is nothing for me to access, correct or delete.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, please tell me first — I'd rather fix it directly. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator at any time:

Information Commissioner's Office
Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF
Helpline: 0303 123 1113 · ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint

A10. Security

I keep information on password-protected, encrypted devices with up-to-date software, two-factor authentication on the accounts involved, and no shared access. Conversation content stays within WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption.

No system is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to put your rights at risk, I will tell you without undue delay and report it to the ICO within 72 hours where required.

A11. Children

The free app is not directed at children under 16. The WhatsApp Companion is for adults aged 18 and over, and I do not knowingly work with under-18s through it. If you believe someone under 18 has signed up, please tell me and I will end the arrangement and delete the data.

A12. Changes to this policy

I'll update this page when the service changes or the law does. The "last updated" date at the top always tells you which version you're reading. If a change materially affects existing clients, I'll tell you directly rather than relying on you noticing the page.

A13. Contact

Part Two — Legal Notice

B1. Service provider

This website and the re:anker app are operated by:

Stephanie Lal, trading as re:anker
Email: reanker.app@gmail.com

Legal form: sole trader.
Not registered for VAT.

Business address for correspondence:
The Bristol Office, 2nd Floor, 5 High Street, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, BS9 3BY, England

This is a correspondence address, not a public office. Please do not visit — everything is handled by email.

This information is provided under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

Responsible for content: Stephanie Lal, at the address above.

B2. Professional standing — please read this carefully

Stephanie Lal is an Applied Neuroscience Practitioner and Clinical Hypnotherapist, trained through HMI College, and the author of Generation Reboot 2.0.

She is not a doctor, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, dietitian or any other statutorily regulated healthcare professional, and does not hold registration with the HCPC, GMC, NMC or an equivalent statutory regulator.

In the United Kingdom the titles "hypnotherapist", "coach" and "practitioner" are not protected by law and are not subject to statutory regulation. Nothing on this site should be read as implying statutory registration, NHS affiliation, or endorsement by any regulator, university or health body.

Insurance: professional liability and malpractice insurance is held through Balens Ltd, specialist insurance brokers. Policy details are available on request.

B3. What re:anker is — and what it is not

re:anker is a wellness and self-care service. The free app is a self-guided grounding tool built on somatic and nervous system regulation principles. The WhatsApp Companion is a personal coaching and support service.

Neither is:

• medical treatment, or a medical device;
• psychotherapy, counselling, or the treatment of any diagnosed mental health condition;
• a diagnosis, prognosis or clinical assessment of any kind;
• a substitute for advice from your GP, therapist, psychiatrist or any other qualified professional;
• an emergency, crisis or out-of-hours service.

Nothing on this website, in the app, or in any conversation with me should be taken as medical or psychological advice. If you have or suspect a health condition, please speak to a qualified professional. If you are already under someone's care, do not stop, change or delay that treatment because of anything you find here.

In an emergency or crisis, do not use this site or the app. Call 999, or NHS 111, or Samaritans free on 116 123, at any hour.

B4. Accuracy and availability

I take care to keep the content of this site accurate and current, but I give no warranty that it is complete, accurate or up to date. Content — including the app, the affirmations, the protocol and any written material — is provided for general information and self-care purposes only.

The site and app are provided on an "as available" basis. I do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and I may change, suspend or withdraw any part of them without notice.

Your use of the free app and this website is at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I accept no liability for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this site. Nothing here limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — and this notice does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

B5. Intellectual property

All content on this site and in the re:anker app — including the name "re:anker", the logo, the protocol design, written text, affirmations, audio, imagery, layout and code — is owned by Stephanie Lal or used under licence, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law.

You may use the app freely for your own personal wellbeing, and you may share a link to it with anyone.

You may not, without my written permission: copy, reproduce, adapt or republish the content; use it commercially; incorporate it into another product, app or programme; use it to train AI or machine learning systems; or present it as your own.

Requests: reanker.app@gmail.com

B6. Links to other sites

This site may link to external websites and to crisis resources. Those sites are not under my control. I include them because I believe they're useful, not as an endorsement of everything they contain, and I accept no responsibility for their content, availability or privacy practices.

B7. Governing law

This notice, and any dispute arising from it or from your use of this website and the free app, is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections of your own country's law, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.

B8. Complaints and contact

Please contact me first — most things are quickest to resolve directly.

reanker.app@gmail.com

Part Three — Terms & Conditions

C1. Who you're dealing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Stephanie Lal, trading as re:anker ("I", "me", "my"), a sole trader, contactable at reanker.app@gmail.com. My business address for correspondence is given in Part Two below.

They cover two different things:

• Sections C3–C5: the free re:anker app and this website — these apply to everyone.
• Sections C6–C13: the paid re:anker WhatsApp Companion — these apply only if you buy it.

By using the app or the site you accept Sections C3–C5. By buying a Companion package you accept all of it.

C2. The most important thing on this page

re:anker is a wellness and self-care service, not healthcare. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it does not replace medical or psychological care. It is not an emergency service and is not monitored around the clock.

If you are in crisis, call 999, or NHS 111, or Samaritans on 116 123. Please don't wait for a reply from me.

C3. The free app

The re:anker app is free to use, needs no account, and asks nothing of you but your first name.

I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for your own wellbeing. You may not copy it, modify it, resell it, build it into another product, or use it commercially without my written permission.

Your data stays with you. Your name, ratings, triggers, notes and session calendar are stored only on your own device. I never receive them and cannot recover them. Clearing your browser data, using private browsing, or changing device or browser will delete them permanently, and there is no backup. Please don't rely on the app as your only record of anything you'd be sorry to lose.

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". I don't guarantee it will always work, on every device, without interruption or error, and I may change or withdraw it at any time.

The app uses sound and, in places, gentle motion. If you have a condition affected by audio or animation, use your judgement — the app respects your device's reduced-motion setting, and audio is always optional.

The app is not designed for children under 16.

C4. Using the app safely

Grounding and breathing practices suit most people most of the time, but not everyone, and not always.

Stop and speak to a qualified professional if a practice makes you feel worse, panicky, dizzy, faint or dissociated. Breath-holding and extended exhales are not appropriate for everyone — take particular care if you are pregnant, or if you live with a respiratory condition, a cardiovascular condition, epilepsy, low blood pressure, or a history of trauma-related dissociation.

You use the app at your own risk and remain responsible for your own wellbeing and for the decisions you make about your care.

C5. Website use

You agree not to misuse this site: no attempts to gain unauthorised access, no scraping, no introducing malicious code, no use that interferes with anyone else's access.

I may update these terms. The version on this page when you use the site is the one that applies. If you're an existing Companion client, I'll tell you directly before any change that affects your package.

C6. The re:anker WhatsApp Companion — what it is

Personal, human support by WhatsApp, delivered by me and by no one else. No bots, no automated replies, no assistants, no AI-generated messages.

Response hours: 10:00–16:00 CET, Monday to Friday. Messages sent outside those hours are answered on the next working day. I am not available evenings, weekends or public holidays, and I take holidays — I'll give you notice of planned breaks.

This is a support and coaching relationship, not therapy and not a clinical service. I don't keep clinical records, make diagnoses, or provide treatment.

Packages

Package — Price — Includes
Lite Support — €30 / week — Up to 3 personal voice notes (max 2 minutes each), plus written check-ins and unlimited text messages that week
Companion — €120 / month — 3 voice-note exchanges weekly plus written notes; continuous story-holding across weeks; Monday intentions and Friday reflections
Deep Companion — €200 / month — Everything in Companion, plus 5 weekly voice exchanges, personalised mindset tools, monthly reflection calls, and one 30-minute 1:1 call each month

Prices are in euros and are not subject to VAT. Included exchanges are per week and don't roll over into the following week. Unused monthly calls don't carry forward.

I may change prices with 30 days' notice; existing packages run to the end of their paid period at the price you agreed.

C7. Who this is for — and who it isn't

The Companion is for adults aged 18 and over. By signing up you confirm you are 18 or older.

In scope: everyday overwhelm — exam and deadline stress, a bad night, homesickness, a difficult conversation, social overload, racing thoughts, anxiety that needs grounding and direction.

Out of scope — a hard boundary, no exceptions:

• active suicidal thoughts, intent or planning
• self-harm in progress or being considered
• eating disorders requiring clinical treatment
• psychosis, mania, or loss of contact with reality
• risk of harm to another person
• any acute safeguarding concern
• ongoing treatment for a diagnosed condition, where this would sit in place of clinical care

If any of these come up, I will tell you plainly and redirect you to appropriate help — your GP, NHS 111, 999, Samaritans on 116 123, or your existing care team. This isn't a judgement about you. It's the point at which you need more than I am qualified to give, and pretending otherwise would not be support.

I may end our work at any point if I believe the service isn't right for you or isn't helping, and I'll refund any unused portion of what you've paid.

C8. What I ask of you

• Tell me honestly what's going on, including anything about your health or care that changes what's safe for me to offer.
• Tell me if you're already working with a therapist, doctor or care team.
• Get emergency help when you need it rather than waiting for my reply.
• Keep it respectful. Abusive, threatening or harassing messages end the arrangement immediately, without refund.
• Keep our conversations to yourself if they contain material I've shared with you — see Section C11.

C9. Payment, renewal and cancellation

Payment is taken in advance by PayPal or bank transfer, and access begins once payment clears.

Monthly packages (Companion and Deep Companion) renew automatically each month until you cancel. Weekly Lite Support does not renew — you buy each week separately.

To cancel a monthly package, email reanker.app@gmail.com or message me on WhatsApp at least 7 days before your next renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. No cancellation fee, no explanation needed.

Your 14-day right to cancel

As a consumer, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of buying, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 — no reason needed.

If you ask me to start within those 14 days, you're asking me to begin before the cancellation period ends. If you then cancel during that period, you'll be charged a proportionate amount for the support already given, and refunded the rest within 14 days. If we haven't started, you get a full refund.

To cancel, just tell me clearly, by email or WhatsApp. You don't have to use any particular form of words.

Refunds outside the 14 days

I don't generally refund a period already begun, except where I've ended our work under Section C7, where I've been unable to provide what you paid for, or where your legal rights entitle you to one. If something has gone wrong, tell me — I'd rather sort it out than stand on the terms.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, I'll let you know and pause the service until it's resolved.

C10. Confidentiality and its limits

What you tell me stays with me. I don't discuss my clients, use your story as an example, or quote you — anonymously or otherwise — without your written permission.

I will break confidentiality only where:

• you ask me to, or agree to it;
• I'm required to by law, a court, or a regulator;
• I believe there's a serious and immediate risk to your life, or of serious harm to you or someone else, including a child or vulnerable adult.

In that last case I may contact emergency services or a safeguarding authority, and I may have to do it without your agreement. Wherever it's safe to, I'll tell you first.

Conversations happen on WhatsApp, which is end-to-end encrypted, but is operated by Meta and outside my control. How I handle your information is set out in full in Part One above.

C11. Intellectual property

Anything I create and share with you — written tools, exercises, recordings, frameworks, the app itself — stays my intellectual property. You may use it for yourself, indefinitely. You may not reproduce it, publish it, teach from it, resell it, or use it to train AI systems.

C12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits my liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.

Subject to that:

• I don't promise any particular outcome. Support of this kind depends on much more than what I do, and results differ from person to person.
• You stay responsible for your own decisions, actions and wellbeing.
• I'm not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, income, opportunity or data.
• Where I am liable, my total liability is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim arose.
• I'm not responsible for failures of WhatsApp, your internet connection, your device, or your browser's storage.

I'm not liable for delay or failure caused by something beyond my reasonable control — illness, bereavement, power or network failure, or similar. Where that happens I'll extend your package or refund the affected portion.

C13. General

Ending the arrangement. Either of us can end it at any time, on the notice in Section C9. I may end it immediately for abusive behaviour, or where the service is out of scope under Section C7.

Changes. I may change these terms. Existing clients get notice before a change affects them, and can cancel without penalty if they don't accept it.

Severability. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Whole agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy (Part One) and Legal Notice (Part Two) on this page, are the whole of what's agreed between us.

Governing law. English law governs these terms, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or the EU, you keep your own country's mandatory consumer protections and may bring proceedings in your own courts.

Complaints. Tell me first: reanker.app@gmail.com. I'll acknowledge within 5 working days and respond fully within 21. If we can't resolve it and you're an EU consumer, you may also use the online dispute resolution channels available to you.
